Comprised of Apple Valley, Burnsville, Eagan, Lakeville, Hastings and more, Dakota County is the 3rd most populous county in the state of Minnesota. Two major rivers, the Mississippi and Minnesota, meet in Dakota County forming a unique geographic area.

Dakota County is home to a number of parks and recreational areas. Lebanon Hills Regional Park is the largest park in the park system offering miles of trails and many lakes. Other parks include Thompson County Park and Lake Byllesby Regional Park. Crystal Lake is a recreational lake in Burnsville, MN offering boat landings, picnic areas, hard surfaced courts, playground equipment and walking trails.
Local Attractions
Held every August, the Dakota County Fair features a variety of shopping, dining and entertainment. Watch an All-American Lumberjack show, various horseshows and a demolition derby. Dakota City comes to life with costumed interpreters and activities of 100 years ago.
